Economics of Crime Experimental Economics

Monica Beeder is a Ph.D. Research Scholar at the Department of Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics and affiliated to FAIR and Chr. Michelsen Institute.  She joined the Department in August 2020.

Her main research interests are development economics and economics of crime. 

Monica is working on the RCN project ‘Education for sustainable job creation’ project in Ethiopia. Within this project, she will work on developing a randomized field experiment to explore whether and how improved employer-employee relations within medium-sized firms can increase revenues and create jobs.

Monica holds an MA in Economics from the University of Bergen where her focus was on economic shocks and drug-related violence in Colombia.

Previously she has been studying Political Economy, Peace and Conflict Studies, Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin-American culture studies in Argentina, Brazil, Nepal, Nicaragua, Portugal, and Spain.
