NHH OBTAINS AMBA ACCREDITATION
NHH has now achieved two of three accreditations that are included in “Triple Crown”. Contributes to increased quality and that we remain attractive for excellent students and employees, says Rector Øystein Thøgersen
The British AMBA accreditation (The Association of MBAs) is amongst the most recognized accreditations in the field of international business schools. They have accredited more than 260 business schools in over 75 countries.
NHH has thus obtained two of three accreditations that are included in “Triple Crown”, AMBA and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement Systems). The work with the third accreditation, AACSB, has progressed and is expected to be fulfilled within the next two years.
Puts weight on international accreditations
‘NHHs ambition about being a recognized international business school leads us to put weight on international accreditations,’ says Rector Øystein Thøgersen.
‘Working with accreditations contributes to increased quality in the development and operation of our activities, and it contributes to our ability to attract excellent international student and employees,’ he adds.
While EQUIS and AACSB are broad focused accreditations, the AMBA is more narrow and targeted at NHHs executive MBAs.
Recognition of quality
The programmes that have been evaluated are:
- MBA Strategic Management, led by Inger G. Stensaker and Tor Øyvind Baardsen
- MBA Management Control, led by Iver Bragelien and Trond Bjørnenak
- MBA Seafood Management, led by Linda Nøstbakken
- EMBA Technology & Innovation of Finance, led by Eirik Sjåholm Knudsen
‘AMBA accreditation is a recognition of the quality of our executive MBA programmes. It is a result of prolonged contribution from our programme directors through many years,’ says Director of NHH Executive Tore Hellebø.
The accreditation is also a recognition of how the programme coordinators at NHH Executive operates and supports the programmes, in addition to a long list of lecturers from NHH who contributes to high quality, explains Hellebø.
‘I wish to direct my sincere gratitude to everyone that is involved in the operation of our executive MBAs. This accreditation is a salute to you all.’
