Ingvild Almås
I joined the NHH doctoral program in 2004 as a research scholar at Department of Economics.
Since then I have been working on a number of projects relating to global inequality and fairness. I have also been involved in teaching at NHH, and have travelled to a large number of conferences and workshops in Europe, the United States and India.
NHH and the Department of Economics has a very positive environment for PhD study. Both the school and the department support high quality research and they encouraged me and other PhD students to travel and meet leading researchers also outside Norway.
I spent one year at Cornell University in the United States, and this helped me develop as a scholar. In addition, I was given the opportunity to spend a few weeks at Yale University as well as a few weeks at University College Dublin. After I graduated, I have also stayed at places like Oxford and Princeton University.
